what do you say to a friend who is allowing himself to be manipulated by someone who has only her own best interests at heart -- a person who is so emotionally and intellectually ill-equipped to deal with him or anyone else? you say nothing. you listen, you offer support where it seems appropriate and you watch. i am not one to be overly-involved in my friends' personal struggles but this one is getting difficult to listen to.
