further embedded my "coolest nanny ever" imprint by taking the kids to the (nearly empty) brookfield zoo today - saw a dolphin show, gorillas, then went and ate french fries. oh yes, i rock.
bedtime tonight was a little rough but i pulled out a trick my mom used to play on me when i was little - i gave them each a "magic" hershey's kiss right before bed - i told them that some kisses were magic and would make them have sweet dreams. i don't hear any little padded footsteps in the hall so i think it worked.
they miss their parents and i miss having a life but we are getting along just fine, i think.
