I buy my paper at a newsstand about a block from my house -- it's a typical wooden shack, where the Sunday Tribune and "Legs Now" magazine hang happily side-by-side in their little plastic pouches.
The guy who runs this stand is blind and he always says hello to me before I even open my mouth, which freaks me out slightly -- does he recognize the sound of my walk? Do I have some kind of pronounced smell? I'm curious, but afraid to ask...
