Turns out the SWAT team actually busted a hate-crimes arson ring, not a meth lab. Two guys who lived in the house were firebombing convenience stores owned by minorities. There is still a tenant in that house (and a large pit bull) so although the bad guys were taken out last Friday, I have a feeling that whomever is left in there isn't a model citizen. Blah.

Job interview this evening for what would be a pretty good gig. I think that's all I'll say until I know more.

S.' mom and stepdad came to visit this weekend. Saturday night we drove out to the Salt Lick which, despite a torrential all-day downpour, was packed. The main building looks somewhat like a camp mess hall; made of stone and old barn wood; inside is a big main room and a side room that runs the length of the building. Just inside the front door is an enormous barbeque pit in the floor where they do the cooking. Seating is at long, communal tables and the service is family-style, which for those of you who don't know, means they keep bringing you huge platters of food until you tell them to stop. Despite the meaty menu, I managed to have a decent (if not totally healthy) dinner. Good people-watching, too.
