I took T. (the new charge) to the Austin Children's Museum today for their Monday morning music/story/freeplay program. We've been attending this for the past few weeks and he loves it.

At music time, a GAP mom (I trust I don't have to further explain that description for anyone) plopped down next to us with her little girl. T. handed the little girl a maraca and the GAP mom spoke thusly: "Oh-my-GAWD-what-a-little-southern-gentleman-you-have-there-oh-Bailey-did-that-nice-boy-just-give-you-a-toy-oh-maybe-they'll-grow-up-and-meet-again-and-be-married-hahahahaha-oh-how-old-is-he(chucks T. under the chin)-how-old-are-you-honey?-can-you-talk?

And then T., who sat through this bizarro rant with a look of placid wonder on his face, calmly looked at this woman and said "Too loud!". Yes, he can talk.

Later today I was at Target and I overheard these two catty college-age gals gossiping about someone they knew - they were running down her clothes, her boyfriends, the way she had decorated her dorm room, on and on. Finally one of them turned to the other and said, "The bottom line about Jane is that she's an overweight, nosy gossip." Word to your own self, sister.

In other news, the possum in our yard has apparently invited his friend Mr. Skunk to move in with him.

~~~
In other, other news, we still have a few fleas but I'm hoping the super-duper flea/egg killing drops will take care of them soon. If not, I may try to get the fire ants to come back into the house and eat them.
