Finally put on my big girl pants and got the haircut I've been needing for about six months. I got about six inches cut off and now my hair is short and sassy, like me. Ha.

Last night S. and I made our second trip to the MANCHACA FIREHALL, a volunteer firehall/community center located ten minutes from our house in lovely MANCHACA, TEXAS. Good food, good people-watching and excellent bluegrass music. The inside seating consists of low tables with these great 70's-era naugahyde chairs on rollers, which means you see tons of kids spinning around while their parents either ignore or threaten them with bodily violence. Outside seating is picnic tables under a big shed. They have a catfish fry every Friday night and there's a big catering truck parked under the shed where people line up to trade their poker chips for plates of food. Some pics:
