yesterday, after a discussion about pyramids and tombs and other things associated with ancient egypt, the older kid i take care of asked me "does your body go to heaven when you do or does it stay in the ground?" and i told him i didn't know. i asked him what he thinks happens and he said this: "i think when it's time for you to die, you hear a whisper in your ear and you just float up in a little glass elevator to heaven or another planet or someplace really good."
i am in awe of this kid. i don't remember EVER thinking so hard about such things until a much later age. he is jewish but he doesn't attend any kind of religious services or schools so who knows where he comes up with this stuff.
to say i love my job would be a gross understatement.
