Guestbook ate my entry again, so I'll try a comment instead. I agree that the "Cierra la boca" comment gives me pause -- it's not the nicest way to say that. Although it may be a non-Spanish speaker's attempt at saying something she hears a lot. From what AJ has said, it sounds like a couple of the Spanish-speaking kids are causing trouble (which is likely to be at least partly due to comprehension issues). Other parents have told us his teacher has a reputation for being a bit of a disciplinarian, something that doesn't surprise me from meeting her, although she's also very friendly. She doesn't tolerate those who don't play by the rules. This suits AJ -- he likes that kind of order. It appeals to his sense of fairness, as long as the rules don't seem random. But some others may not have as easy a time with that kind of an environment. I'm just speculating, of course. But I'm keeping my ears open too.
